Church Awake is for people who look at the world and the church and realize a tsunami is coming. The country has changed. The world spins a little off.
Why don’t others recognize the warning of an outgoing tide that precedes the coming danger?
The church must change now and make authentic disciples among the next generations. Do these statements resonate with you? We are looking for allies.
A tsunami of change will sweep away traditional church forms and structures once taken for granted as immutable and immovable. How do we prepare for what is to come?
The church is called to make disciples, not members. We must refocus on Jesus and His Word, by His Spirit, and in love. There is little time left to prepare a new generation of believers to lead others to higher ground.
What We Do
Simply put, because we are the church, we exist as a showcase for God’s love. We make disciples who wholeheartedly follow Jesus.
Together, we engage Scripture and encounter God through His Word by His Spirit. We call these loving communities “Clusters,” where anyone can come and participate.
Church Awake is for everyone of every age, but our Wisdom of Old “Soles” ministry is specifically for Gen Z (b. 1995-2012). We help form multigenerational and multicultural Bible Clusters while mentoring next-generation Leader-Believers who start other Clusters among their friends.
Church Awake also plants new church congregations. Clusters become congregations when they recognize themselves as congregations, when spiritual gifts function to build up one another, and when biblical leadership emerges.
In these ways, Church Awake makes disciples and facilitates planting new congregations while training and mentoring Leader-Believers of the next generations.
Superspreader Church
Church Awake is a superspreader church, much like Antioch in the New Testament (Acts 11), that sent out Paul and his companions on three missionary journeys. We are creating a network to networks of small congregations, helping to link these congregations and their leaders. As such, we strive to form decentralized but interconnected organic networks, not a denomination or association linked by history or doctrine.
Charlotte Awake is governed by a Board of biblically qualified elders who have been tested by age.
